EUROPEAN INVESTMENT FUND (EIF)
COUNTER-GUARANTEES
KGF benefits from a counter-guarantee of the
European Investment Fund (EIF) under the European
Community’s Multiannual Programme for Enterprise and
Entrepreneurship and, in particular, for Small and
Medium sized Enterprises (SME,s) (2001-2006). Within
the framework of the agreement signed between KGF
and EIF, guarantees of KGF for investment credits
will be counter-guaranteed by EIF, up to 50 %. The
targets of this programme are to give opportunity to
SME’s for increasing their employment volume mainly
and grow stronger.
SME’s can benefit from this implementation only for
their 3 years or longer term demands of investment
credits. KGF reduces the commission rates for loans
under EIF counter-guarantee.
The Protocol, which was signed 18th January 2004,
has been renewed on December 2006. At the same time,
scope of the agreement has been extended. It has
been planned within the context of this cooperation
between KGF and EIF, Euro 24 million will be
provided to SME’S in our country.
EIF, which is the institution of European Union (EU),
supports the credit guarantee funds in member and
candidate countries of EU and displays activity in
venture capital. Credit rating of EIF is AAA.
